Anderson Cooper

June 2, 1967: Anderson Cooper born to designer Gloria Vanderbilt and author Wyatt Emory Cooper.

1977: Cooper's father, Wyatt Cooper, dies after suffering several heart attacks.

1988: Cooper's brother, Carter Vanderbilt Cooper, a Princeton graduate, commits suicide at the age of 23 by jumping from the terrace of Gloria Vanderbilt's Manhattan apartment. Gloria believes his suicide was the result of a psychotic episode induced by the allergy drug, Proventil.

1989: Graduates from Yale University with a BA in Political Science

1992: Begins working as a fact checker for Channel One, a news program made to air in classrooms. Moves to Vietnam to study Vietnamese at the University of Hanoi.

1995: At the age of 28, signs with ABC News and becomes their youngest correspondent.

September 1999: Becomes permanent anchor of World News Now.

2000 Left World News Now to host ABC's reality show, The Mole.

2001 Begins work as an anchor alongside Paula Zahn on CNN's "American Morning with Paula Zahn".

September 2003 CNN launches Anderson Cooper 360°.

March 2005: Cooper makes Vanity Fair's international best-dressed list, alongside male celebrities like Jude Law and George Clooney.
