May 14, 1944: Born as George Walton Lucas, Jr. in Modesto, California to Dorothy Bomberger Lucas and George Walton Lucas, Sr.
1959: Attends Downey High School in Modesto California.
1962: Graduates from Downey High School.
June 12, 1962: Dreams of being a race car driver ends when he smashes
his Fiat Biancina into a walnut tree and almost dies.
1963: Attends University of Southern California's School of
Cinema-Television.
1966: Graduates University of Southern California with a bachelor of
fine arts.
Late 1966: Tries to join the Air Force as an officer but thanks to all his speeding tickets he is refused. The army drafts him but tests reveal he has diabetes, no insulin required. Later, the U.S. Military hires him as a teacher assistant to train cameramen.
Early 1967: During his time as a teacher assistant he shoots the short film THX 1138:4EB which wins several student awards.
Fall 1967: Re-enrolls in University of Southern California and is
selected to make a behind the scenes documentary on the making of
McKennas Gold.
1968: Becomes production apprentice at Warners after winning the
University of Southern California's annual scholarship.
1969: Francis Ford Coppola and George Lucas create American Zoetrope,
named after a collection of zoetropes filmmaker Mogens Skot-Hansen gave him.
Feb. 22, 1969: Marries Marcia Lou Griffin.
Mar. 11, 1971: American Zoetrope releases THX 1138:4EB, a movie Lucas wrote and directed.
Late 1971: Lucasfilm Ltd. is founded by Lucas.
Aug. 7, 1973: Lucasfilm Ltd. and American Zoetrope release American Graffiti and it grosses $115,000,000. Lucas wrote and directed it with his wife Marcia editing it.
1975: Conceives the basic story of Star Wars. Divides it into two trilogies. Chooses the second, the one that revolves around Luke Skywalker, because it is the most exciting of the two.
1976: The book version of Star Wars is published and Lucus is credited as the author until it's later revealed ghostwriter Alan Dean Foster wrote it.
May 25, 1977: Star Wars, or now known as Star Wars
Episode IV: A New Hope, is released with a budget of $11,000,000. Lucas wrote and directed it with his wife Marcia editing it. On opening day it rakes in $254,309 from just thirty-two theaters and almost grosses three hundred million.
1978: For $ 2.7 million Lucas purchases a 1,882 acre Bulltail Ranch in San Rafael, California.
Aug.1, 1979: More American Graffiti is released. He is
executive producer.
May 21, 1980: Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back, or now known as Star Wars Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back, is released with a budget of 18,000,000. Lucas is a co-writer and executive producer. It gorsses over $220 million.

1981: Adopts a daughter, Mary.
June 12, 1981: Raiders of the Lost Ark, a movie he co-writes and co-produces, is released with a budget of twenty million.
1983: Marcia Lou Griffin leaves him for another man..
May 25, 1983: Star Wars: Return of the Jedi, now known as Star Wars Episode VI: Return of the Jedi, is released with a budget of thirty-two and half million. He co-writes and is executive producer. It grosses over $265 million. Lucas decides not to continue on with the prequel trilogy until special effects technology is better and cheaper.
May 23, 1984: Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom, a movie he co-writes and co-produces, is released with a budget of twenty-eight million.
Nov. 25, 1984: ABC airs Caravan of Courage: An Ewok
Adventure. Lucas is the writer and executive producer.
Nov. 24, 1985: ABC airs Ewoks: The Battle for Endor. Lucas is the writer and executive producer. He wrote it so it revolved around a girl character for his daughter Mary.
June 27, 1986: Labyrinth is released. He is executive producer.
Dec. 3, 1986: Howard the Duck is released. Lucas, executive
producer, disowns the movie shortly after.
1988: Adopts another daughter, Katie. Mother, Dorothy Lucas, dies.
May 28, 1988: Willow, a movie he writes and co-produces, is
released.
May 24, 1989: Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade, a movie he
co-writes and co-produces, is released with a budget of forty-eight
million dollars.
1991: Father, George Walton Lucas dies.
1993: Adopts his first son, Jett.
Oct. 2, 1993: Begins to look over the original Star Wars
trilogy that revolves around Luke Skywalkers father, Anakin Skywalker.
Nov. 1, 1993: Decides to devote all his time to writing the Prequel
Trilogy leaving day-to-day operations to his subordinates.
May 1996: Lucasfilm signs a deal reportedly two billion with
Pepsico (Pepsi, Pizza Hut, KFC, Taco Bell and Frito
Lay) for first rights to any movie tie-ins to the Prequel Trilogy.
Late 1997: Even with Lucas's tight security methods on set, the entire plotline is leaked out and posted on SuperShadow.com. Because of this, SuperShadow.com becomes the internet's Star Wars' mecca.
April 1998: 20the Centruy Fox wins the rights to the Prequel Trilogy.
May 19, 1999: Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace is
released with a budget of $115,000,000. He is director, writer, and
executive producer.
May 16, 2002: Star Wars Episode II: Attack of the Clones is
released with a budget of $120,000,000. He is director, writer, and
executive producer.
May 19, 2005: Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith is
released with a budget of $113,000,000. He is director, writer, and
executive producer.
July 16, 2005: Donald Trump annouces George Lucas will appear on Season 4 of The Apprentice. Lucas will decide which team comes up with the best DVD promotion for Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith.
