July 10, 1980: Jessica Ann Simpson is born in Abilene, Texas to Tina and Joe Simpson.

1992: Her application to be part of The New Mickey Mouse Club which featuries Christina Aguilera, Britney Spears and Justin Timberlake is turned down.

1993: While at church camp she sings Whitney Houston's I Will Always Love You and one of the camp's visitors convinces her to join his new gospel record label. She begins to tour with Christian Youth conferences, singing songs like "True Love Waits."

Nov. 23, 1999: Her debut album ,Sweet Kisses, is released and sells over two million copies in the U.S., landing on #25 on the U.S. Billboard 200.

June 5, 2001: Her second album, Irresistible, is released. It makes Billboard 200's Top 10.

Oct. 6, 2002: Simpson marries longtime boyfriend, former 98 Degrees singer Nick Lachey.

July 2, 2002: Releases remixes of previous hits on This Is The Remix .

Aug. 19, 2003: Releases third album In This Skin. Also on this date, the reality show Newlyweds: Nick & Jessica debuts on MTV starring Simpson and husband Nick Lachey.

Jan. 1, 2004: Season 2 of the Newlyweds premieres.

Mar. 2, 2004: Special collector's edition of In This Skin is released.

June 22, 2004: Simpson cancels a concert at Providence, Rhode Island's Dunkin Donuts Civic Center due to a kidney infection.

Sept. 28, 2004: Paparazzi rescue a stranded Simpson from freeway nightmare by stopping and filling up her gas tank. As a reward for their kindness, she signs the gas canister they used to fill her up.

Nov. 23, 2004: Releases a special holiday album called Rejoyce: The Christmas Album. It makes it to #20 on Billboard 200.

Dec. 1, 2004: As a duet, Simpson and sister Ashlee Simpson sing Little Drummer Boy on ABC's Nick & Jessica's Family Christmas.

Jan. 1, 2005: It is revealed that Jessica and her sister Ashlee can burp the alphabet. Ashlee says on Pagesix.com, " Jessica has better wind and is a much better belcher. She burps the alphabet better than me."

Jan. 6, 2005: Season 3 of Newlyweds premieres.

Jan. 12, 2005: Jessica and Ashlee tie for #3 in Mr. Blackwell's 45th Annual Worst-Dressed Women list. Says Blackwell: "From gaudy, to grim, to downright frenetic. These two prove that bad taste is positively genetic!"

Mar. 30, 2005: The series finale of Newlyweds airs.

July 18, 2005: Johnny Knoxville pleads with the media to stop with the rumors he and Jessica are sleeping together.

July 27, 2005: Johnny Knoxville really wishes the media to stop with the rumor he and Jessica Simpson have a secret romance going.

July 30, 2005: Jessica gets a new neighbor, none other than Eminem.

Aug. 5, 2005: Stars as Daisy Duke in the Dukes of Hazaard alongside Burt Reynolds, Johnny Knoxville, Seann William Scott, and Willie Nelson.

Aug. 11, 2005: In her National Enquirer column, Anna Nicole Smith challenges Jessica Simpson to prove her claims of having a high IQ: "Oh, and what's this about you supposedly having an IQ of 160? Please! You should take an IQ test on live TV."

Aug. 3, 2005: Johnny Knoxville takes a polygraph test on the Howard Stern Show in order to dispel rumors that he and Simpson had an affair. The polygraph indicated that he did not have sexual relations with Simpson, but that he did "tongue kiss" her and did think about her while pleasuring himself.

Aug. 23, 2005: Simpson tells the Daily Express that she wishes to star in a Shakespeare play: ""When I arrived in England the first thing I did was go straight to the Globe Theatre ... I have always loved Shakespeare."

Sept. 1, 2005: Britney Spears says she's not jealous that Simpson nabbed the role of Daisy Duke in The Dukes of Hazzard because, "That wasn't my time. I'm supposed to be pregnant now."
