March 22, 1948: Wolf Blitzer is born.

1970: Receives a B.A. in History from State University of New York at Buffalo.

1972: Receives an M.A. in International Relations from the Johns Hopkins University School of Advanced International Studies.

1990: Is hired by CNN as a military-affairs reporter.

1995: Publishes his first book, Between Washington and Jerusalem: A Reporter's Notebook with Oxford University Press.

1989: Publishes his second book, Territory of Lies, with Harper and Row.

1995: He earns an Emmy Award for his coverage of the 1995 Oklahoma City bombing.

2005: Wolf Blitzer hosts The Situation Room, a new CNN show airing from 3pm to 6pm EST weekdays.
