April 10, 1988
Haley Joel Osment is born in Los Angeles to actor Eugene Osment and teacher Theresa Osment.

March 10, 1992
Sister Emily Osment is born.

1994
Plays the role of Forest Gump’s son in Forest Gump with Tom Hanks.

1999
Plays the role of Cole Seer in the M. Night Shyamalan film, The Sixth Sense, with Bruce Willis. He has the famous line, “I see dead people.”

2000
Is nominated for an Academy Award for his role in The Sixth Sense.

Oct. 20, 2000
Stars in Pay It Forward based on the Catherine Ryan Hyde novel of the same name.

June 29, 2001
Stars in the Steven Spielberg film, Artificial Intelligence: A.I., with Jude Law. Osment’s father, Eugene Osment, also has a role in the film.

Sept. 19, 2003
Stars in Secondhand Lions with Robert Duvall and Michael Caine.

July 20, 2006
He crashes his car into a brick mailbox and overturns his car. He suffers a broken rib, fractured shoulder blade, and several abrasions.

Oct. 19, 2006
He pleads no contest to Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol and is sentenced to three years probation, a $1500 fine, 60 hours in an alcohol rehab and education program, and mandatory AA meetings for six months.

2008
Makes his Broadway debut in a revival of David Mamet’s play, American Buffalo. It also stars John Leguizamo and Cedric the Entertainer.

2011
Graduates from NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts.

2013
Appears in a series of episodes of Alpha House, an Amazon series.
