Sept. 27, 1984: Born as Avril Ramona Lavigne in Belleville, Ontario to Judy and John Lavigne.

June 4, 2002: First album Let Go is released.

Aug. 2002: Her video for Complicated wins a MTV Video Music Award for Best New Artist.

Late Dec. 2002: Rolling Stone magazine picks her as Best Female Performer and Best New Artist.

Jan. 11, 2003: Performs on Saturday Night Live.

Feb. 23, 2003: Is nominated for five Grammy Awards for Best New Artist, Best Rock Vocal Performance - Female, Song of the Year, Best Pop Vocal Album (Let Go), and Best Female Pop Vocal Performance (Complicated). Also performs on at the Grammies. Wins none.

Mar. 2003: Graces the cover of Rolling Stone.
