Oct. 17, 1949: Born as William Louis Hudson II in Portland, Oregon.

Aug. 23, 1951: Brother Mark Hudson is born.

Jan. 18, 1953: Brother Brett Hudson is born.

1964: Brothers William and Mark form a band with a friend, Kent Fillmore, and call themselves the My Sirs. After a while, they let youngest brother Brett join the band.

July 1976: Marries Goldie Hawn.

1976: Son Oliver Hudson is born.

1979: Daughter Kate Hudson is born.

1979: Divorces Goldie.

1982: Marries Cindy Williams.

1982: Cindy gives birth to Emily Hudson.

1986: Son Zachary Hudson is born.

Oct. 19, 1999: Provides backup vocals and some electric guitar on Ringo Starr's I Wanna Be Santa Claus CD.

Dec. 13, 2000: Cindy files for divorce, citing "irreconcilable differences".
