Mar.19, 1955: Born as Walter Bruce Willis in Idar-Oberstein, Germany to Marlene and David Willis.

1957: His dad is discharged from the military and moves his family to Carney's Point, New Jersey.

1970/1971: Elected Student Council President.

1970/1971: Takes up drama classes after discovering that he loses his speech impediment while on stage.

1972: Takes up school wrestling which leads to a serious shoulder sprain that leaves a scar.

1973: During his senior year he is suspended for three months for being involved in what he calls "the annual riot".

1973: Graduates from Penns Grove High School, Penns Grove, New Jersey. Is voted "Most School Spirit."

1973: After graduating from high school, he gets a job at the Du Pont factory in nearby Deepwaters. He quits after a fellow driver dies on the job.

1974/1975: Becomes a security guard at a nuclear plant under construction.

1975: Hangs out in bars playing the harmonica in R&B band Loose Goose.

1975: Enrolls in Montclair State College in New Jersey and takes up drama classes. Makes a big impression with his performance in Cat On A Hot Tin Roof.

1976: Quits college and moves to New York, eventually settling down in Hell's Kitchen.

1976: To pay the bills, he tends bar at the restaurants Café Central and Chelsea Central. He begins as a waiter but is too clumsy, so they make him a bartender.

1977: Makes his off-Broadway debut in Heaven And Earth.

Oct. 3, 1980: Makes film debut in The First Deadly Sin. His role is unaccredited as the man who enters the diner as Edward Delaney (Frank Sinatra) leaves. He also stands in for the killer in the long shots.

Dec. 8, 1982: Has another unaccredited role as a courtroom observer in The Verdict starring Paul Newman.

Nov. 9, 1984: Makes an appearance on the TV series Miami Vice as Tony Amato.

Mar. 3, 1985: ABC's Moonlighting premieres. He plays David Addison alongside co-star Cybill Shepard.

Sept. 20, 1985: Plays Peter Jay Novins on an epidose of The Twilight Zone.

1986: Motown records releases his first album, Bruce Willis: The Return of Bruno.

Mar. 27, 1987: Makes official movie debut in Blind Date with Kim Basinger and John Laroquette.

Memorial Day weekend, 1987: Arrested after disturbing the peace and assaulting a police officer. Charges are dropped after he apologizes to neighbors and the officer.

Nov. 21, 1987: Marries Demi Moore.

July 15, 1988: In his breakthrough role, he plays John McClane in Die Hard

May 24, 1991: Plays Eddie 'Hudson Hawk' Hawkins in Hudson Hawk.

July 20, 1991: Demi gives birth to their second daughter, Scout Larue Willis.

Nov. 1, 1991: Plays Bo Weinberg in Billy Bathgate with Dustin Hoffman and Nicole Kidman.

Dec. 13, 1991: Plays Joe Cornelius Hallenbeck in The Last Boy Scout with Damon Wayes and Halle Berry.

Feb. 26, 2003: Hosts David Letterman after Letterman takes his first sick day in twenty years (not including his time off for heart surgery).

June 2, 2004: Breaks up with Brooke Burns, whom he has been dating for ten months, due to the difficulty of maintaining a long distance relationship.

July 6, 2003: On his official web site, Bruce reports that his golden lab, Bella, farted and when he attempted to fan away the stench with a blanket, he accidentally hit one of the model constellations hanging from the ceiling. This caused Saturn to fall and split open Bruce's forehead.

July 27, 2004: Plays Jimmy 'The Tulip' Tudeski in The Whole Ten Yards with Amanda Peet, Matthew Perry, and Natasha Henstridge.

Oct. 20, 2004: Sues Revolution Studios because of injuries caused by "ultrahazardous activity" during filming of Tears of the Sun, claiming the injuries cause serious mental, physical and emotional pain and suffering.

Mar. 11, 2005: Plays Jeff Talley in Hostage.

Apr. 2005: Is made an officer in the "Order of Arts and Letters" by France.

Apr. 1, 2005: Plays John Hartigan in Sin City with Jessica Alba and Mickey Rourke.
