July 1, 1934: Born as Jameel Joseph Farah in Toledo, Ohio of Lebanese Antiochian Orthodox descent.
1945: Wins $2.00 in a local Toledo acting contest.
1955: Has a supporting role in the movie, The Blackboard Jungle.
Late 1950s: Farr becomes a regular on The Red Skelton Show and later moves on to a bigger role on The Danny Kaye Show.
Sept. 17, 1972: The first episode of the tv series, M*A*S*H, airs on CBS, entitled "M*A*S*H the Pilot".
Oct. 8, 1972: In the episode entitled, "Chief Surgeon Who?", Farr's character, Maxwell Klinger, makes his first appearance.
1981: Appears in Cannonball Run with Burt Reynolds.
Feb. 21, 1983: In the second to last episode of M*A*S*H, "As Time Goes By," the camp buries a time capsule filled with mementos of their time in Korea. Farr's Klinger falls in love with a Korean girl whom he later marries.
Feb. 28, 1983: The final episode, "Goodbye, Farewell, and Amen" airs. Los Angeles declares Feb. 28 "M*A*S*H Day" in honor of the final episode.
1984: Farr appears in Cannonball Run II.
Sept. 26, 1983: The pilot episode of the spinoff, AfterMASH, airs, starring Farr, Gary Burghoff, William Christopher, and Harry Morgan.
Dec. 18, 1984: The last episode of AfterMASH airs. Although the series had high ratings during the first season, it was cancelled due to poor second season ratings.
1985: Receives a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
Dec. 1994: Publishes his autobiography, Just Farr Fun.
July 5, 1998: The park where Farr used to hang out when he was younger was renamed "Jamie Farr Park" in his honor.
