Nov. 4, 1937: Loretta Swit is born in Passaic, New Jersey to Polish immigrants.
1967: She tours with the national touring company "Any Wednesday", starring Gardner McKay.
Sept. 17, 1972: The first episode of the tv series, M*A*S*H, airs on CBS, entitled "M*A*S*H the Pilot". Swit plays the role of Major Margaret "Hot Lips" Houlihan, the hard as nails Chief of Nurses.
Feb. 28, 1983: The final episode of M*A*S*H, "Goodbye, Farewell, and Amen" airs. Los Angeles declares Feb. 28 "M*A*S*H Day" in honor of the final episode. Swit and Alan Alda are the only two actors to appear on both the first and last episodes of the series.
1989: Receives a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
1983: Marries Dennis Holahan.
1995: Divorces Dennis Holahan.
