Orlando Bloom Timeline

Jan 13, 1977: Born as Orlando Bloom in Canterbury, Kent to Sonia J. Copeland and Harry Bloom.

1981: Harry Bloom dies.

1990: Discovers Harry Bloom wasn't his real father. Colin Stone, a friend of the family, is his father.

1993: Struggling with dyslexia, Orlando quits St. Edmund's School in Canterbury to begin his quest to be an actor. Moves to London and becomes a member of the National Youth Theatre and spends two seasons there.

1995: Gets a scholarship at the National Youth Theatre and begins studying at the British American Drama Academy in London.

1996: Attends London's Guildhall School of Music and Drama.

Nov. 21, 1997: Debuts as a male prostitute in Wilde.

1998: Has to relearn to walk after falling three stories and breaking his back.

1999: Not long after graduating drama school, he gets his big break and lands the part of Legolas Greenleaf in The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring.

Jan.1, 2001: Plays Pfc. Todd Blackburn in Ridley Scott's Blackhawk Down with Josh Hartnett.

Dec. 19, 2001: Plays Legolas Greenleaf in The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring with Elijah Wood, Christopher Lee, and Ian McKellen.

Dec. 18, 2002: Plays Legolas Greenleaf in The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers.

July 9, 2003: Stars as Will Turner in Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl with Johnny Depp.

Nov. 6, 2003: Stars as Legolas Greenleaf in The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King.

Mar.14, 2004: Stars as Paris in Troy with Brad Pitt and Peter O'Toole.

Jan. 31, 2005: Breaks up with Kate Bosworth.

Mar.15, 2005: Back together with Kate Bosworth.

Sept. 3, 2005: Goes to a Coldplay concert with his dog but refuses to go backstage because security won't let his dog attend as well.
